What is RoboStellars?
The RoboStellars project is designed to inspire young learners to explore robotics, space exploration, and STEM through hands-on, mission-based learning experiences. In a world where technological and digital skills are becoming increasingly essential, RoboStellars aims to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving abilities from an early age, helping students develop the confidence to engage with science and technology.
The Project combines educational robotics with the excitement of space missions, allowing students to take on the roles of engineers, programmers, and explorers. Through interactive challenges inspired by planetary exploration, learners develop computational thinking, teamwork skills, and technical confidence while engaging with real-world scientific concepts. By integrating robotics and coding with storytelling and exploration, RoboStellars transforms complex STEM topics into accessible and engaging learning experiences.
At the core of RoboStellars is a mission-driven learning model that transforms the classroom into a space exploration environment. Students design, build, and program robotic systems to solve realistic challenges such as navigating Martian terrain, collecting planetary samples, analysing environmental conditions, or designing autonomous systems. This narrative-based approach strengthens motivation, encourages experimentation, and improves learning outcomes by connecting science, technology, and creativity in meaningful ways.
To support teachers in implementing these innovative learning experiences, RoboStellars provides structured learning modules, teacher training materials, practical robotics toolkits, and adaptable classroom scenarios. These resources are designed to be flexible and inclusive, enabling educators to integrate robotics and space science into different curricula and learning environments. The project also includes a multilingual digital platform where teachers and students can access learning materials, coding activities, and interactive resources.
To ensure effective implementation and long-term impact, RoboStellars integrates pilot testing in partner schools, continuous evaluation processes, and collaborative feedback from educators and students. These activities allow the project to refine its tools and methodologies while ensuring that they respond to real classroom needs. In parallel, dissemination and outreach activities at European level help share the project’s results with a wider educational community.
By combining robotics, storytelling, and space exploration, RoboStellars empowers students to see themselves as future innovators and problem-solvers. At the same time, the project contributes to strengthening STEM education, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging inclusive participation in scientific and technological fields across Europe. Through its innovative approach, RoboStellars aims to make STEM learning more engaging, accessible, and inspiring for the next generation.
